and 2004: "Flywheel" themed wall clock
custom made by Steven Shaver.
Wachovia Securities
- 2005 and
Oxygen One
- 2006:
"Flywheel" themed
mementos
made by Steven Shaver.
Seminar conducted based on
the #1 best selling business
book
Good to Great, by author
Jim Collins.
Design
direction:
Steven was asked to create employee recognition gifts
representing the concept of the "flywheel effect" in the book*.
Appropriately he chose an actual flywheel to be made into a wall
clock. Smaller, classy brass gears were chosen for
the engraved mementos because the teeth and shape resembled a
flywheel and were ideal for the desk.
Parts and
materials:
Flywheel
themed mementos: 3 1/2" brass Jeep transmission gear.
Laser cut
acrylic
disc. Black metal disc
with engraved brass text.
Flywheel wall
clock: 13" Nickel-plated GM flywheel on black ABS.
Silver socket head bolts. Quartz clock.
Recipients:
Given to special
employee and sales team after the seminars.
*The
book,
Good to Great,
illustrates how a company is
like a heavy
flywheel. Getting it to
first move, then accelerate
and
maintain
momentum is the goal. The
cumulative "flywheel effect" of
each
step and push upon the last in a
constant direction - moves it
faster and faster - until
breakthrough is achieved and
takes the
company from
"good to great"!
